roo! Framework Development and Future Plans

The roo! Framework plugin for WordPress has been discontinued.

Here’s a bit of history. The plugin is a mix of three other plugins, all CPT-based, all 90% similar: a classifieds plugin, a jobs plugin and a link directory. The plugin makes extensive use of post meta, however, with the upcoming Gutenberg editor, the plugin will stop working properly. Another deal-breaker is the theme modification in order for the plugin to work. The plugin injects content in the category template and the single template, but it’s hit and miss, as sometimes, the theme gets rendered incorrectly.

Times changed, and the plugin sales went down. All its features are now available in (much better) free plugins.

You can still get the latest version from GitHub, for free, but there’s no support or future updates.
