I have been working these days with a friend on some variations of a theme. The WordPress theming business could be very profitable these days, and also in the future, however, good, quality themes are hard to find. That’s why I intend to create a themes portal, (aren’t there so many out there?) to include my free themes and my favourite themes all over the web. The portal will have a sharing system, so readers will be able to add their themes. I’m not really sure how it will function, however I really need to do it.
As WordPress updates keep coming, and 2.6 is approaching lightning fast, the themes will have to be simple, quick and easy to install. I ran into some bloated themes, full of options, which 75% of its users don’t even use. I agree it’s hard to create a complex, powerful, magazine-style theme, but there is so much junk out there.
