The next eCards update will have the regular CAPTCHA removed. Why? Well, let’s see:

  1. The CAPTCHA question is the same, meaning if a cracker wants to abuse the eCards system and learns the CAPTCHA key, it’s pretty easy.
  2. When the CAPTCHA was first introduced, there was no reCAPTCHA™ option.
  3. The CAPTCHA options add an additional layer of resources, meaning a (negligible) loss of performance.

Why only keep reCAPTCHA™?

  1. It is safe.
  2. It is dynamic.
  3. It is the best CAPTCHA solution out there.

UPDATE #1: CAPTCHA is out and reCAPTCHA™ is the only available option now. Consider activating it if you didn’t use a CAPTCHA system before.
