getButterfly Logo getButterfly code wrangling since 2005

A SEO blog with lots of interesting articles to read. They have also daily issues with links gathered from around the web.

This site is a search engine for DoFollow blogs. I added mine so, go ahead and search.

Their widget provides a simple and elegant representation of your site’s rankings. Currently supported rankings are Google PageRank, Alexa Traffic Ranking, Compete Snapshot Rank and Technorati Rank.

The same as above, only this time wrapped as a WordPress plugin. Discontinued though.

Another cool blog.

  1. Thank you for the list. Would be a nice thing to read a roundup of some more links just put together as a list with links to specific articles worth reading ;)

  2. I wonder why would someone use Show Off Rankings plugin? Only for the purpose of slowing down the loading of the website? LOL

If I like a blog, I read it no matter how high is Alexa ranking. If I don’t like it, I don’t read it no matter what Alexa users are doing.

I suppose this type of plugin is good for people who don’t have any good content to show … so they need to show something else. Today I’m baaaad :-)

  3. Thanks for the information on the ‘DoFollow’ directories!

I have only just made my blog a DoFollow one and I have been looking for directories to put them in! I am looking at your link now and I will more than likely add my site to it!

    Thanks again!

  4. The list are very useful! I find interesting topics and information especially about widgets and other stuffs that are very useful for the blog. It’s really worth reading all this! ;)

  5. Obsession? Outdated?

Why do you think that? And why you’re the only one who think that? ;-)

If the SE are advanced you no longer need to help your website ranking high?

That’s it? SE are advanced and all the websites will be ranked high, so no need to do any SEO? You must be joking, my friend!

It is impossible all the websites to rank high. The competition exists and will always exist. If you want to be on top then you have to do something – that’s SEO.

  6. Don’t you think that the obsession with SEO is now outdated? SEs are so advanced now, that we really need not worry too much about SEO. What is your take on thet?

  7. I agree with Solo Ads. SEO is one of the most important, if not the most important, aspect of managing a website or blog. In today highly competitive industry, unless proper SEO is in place, you will find yourself buried somewhere in nowhere land.

On the other hand, it’s shouldn’t be an obsession to the point where quality content is compromised.

  8. These tools are absolutely wonderful and an SEO Developer cannot live without tools like these. Otherwise you would be mining data forever.
