PropertyPin – A Visual Bookmarking Platform for Property Images

By now, you should be familiar with my ImagePress plugin for WordPress. If not, here’s the gist: it allows website owners to create multi-user image galleries. It has some nice features, such as collections, profiles, front-end registration and login, followers, sharing, and so on.

The latest feature is remote image pinning. If you are familiar with Pinterest, you know what it is.

This is how I built PropertyPin, a simple website powered by WordPress and ImagePress. Nothing else.

Here’s how it works. The remote website needs either a JavaScript code snippet, a hardcoded link, or a bookmarklet (in case you don’t control the website). If the user is logged into PropertyPin, they can trigger the pin from the remote website and an image is automatically uploaded and generated. Everything else is how ImagePress works — the image can be categorized, tagged, edited, added to collections and added to the user’s profile.

In the meantime, if you are on Product Hunt, don’t forget to upvote PropertyPin!

I launched PropertyPin.co a few weeks ago, and saw a bit of traction. I will follow up with some tutorials on how to build a website similar to this one in the coming weeks.
